Add Allentown Fair’s box office record to the Jonas Brothers juggernaut’s list of accomplishments.

A sellout crowd of 10,467 Saturday for the Disney teen sensations brought the fair’s highest gross ever for a concert — more than $700,000 — Fair Marketing Director Bonnie Brosious said.

And the Jonases did it by “Burning Up” the stage.

OK, that’s a cheap way to use the title of their hit song, but it’s appropriate. The concert, 100 minutes and more than 20 songs long, played out like a rock show Disney style, with lots of flames, flash and splash on a three-level stage with a runway into the audience, and nothing even remotely off-color.

But a lot of rock acts could learn from the Jonases. What their post-adolescent voices lack in smoothness, they make up for with earnestness and energy, which shone though from the opening “That’s Just the Way We Roll.”

Anne and Michelle are doing a fundraiser called “Deck the Halls for Diabetes” and “Active Imaginations”. Here is the mission statement they have sent in.

Mission Statement:

Coming this December 2008, Active Imaginations Foundation proudly presents: Deck the Halls for Diabetes. Deck the Halls for Diabetes is fundraising event that will take place somewhere in the Bay Area (official location to be announced) designed to raise awareness and money for diabetes and its research. “About 186, 300 of Americas with the ages between 20 or younger have diabetes. The estimated economic cost of diabetes in the year 2007 was $174 billion. Of this amount, $116 billion was due to direct medical costs and $58 billion due to indirect costs such as lost workdays, restricted activity, and disability due to diabetes.” During this event, we plan on hosting a benefit show/concert featuring various acts/performers. A large amount of the proceeds will be divided and donated to American Diabetes Association through Change the Children Foundation and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation . Extending our efforts in helping the community during the holiday season, we will also host a canned-food/toy drive that will benefit local shelters and charity organizations. Also, when MTV plays a commerical for the next episode of one of their shows they play JB songs in the background. I heard “BB Good” for Exiled and “Shelf” for The Hills. They also play clips from the Jonas Brothers concert at Madison Square Garden and say that Jonas Brothers are performing at the VMAs.

Veteran video director Brett Ratner has worked with Madonna, Mariah Carey, Diddy, Jessica Simpson, Wu-Tang Clan and many others. And he’s got high praise for VMA Best New Artist nominee Miley Cyrus, whose “7 Things” clip he recently helmed.

“She reminded me a lot of Madonna,” Ratner told MTV News. “And I hate saying that, but what I mean is, like Madonna, she can be hanging out and laughing, and then you put the camera on her and it’s like, ‘Holy sh–!’ ”

That effervescence actually made the simple performance video more difficult for the director. “It was the hardest video I’ve ever edited because every moment was great,” he said. “Every moment that she was on camera, she was amazing. She’s got an incredible quality about her. She gets the camera, and that’s what it takes to make a great music video.

“She came out in these high-heel boots and I was going to say something to her about them,” he continued, “but on her own she was like, ‘I’d feel better in sneakers.’ Her instincts are great. She has great charisma and personality.”

He recalled discussing the video with the young star during a visit to her home, where she told him how much the song — which she co-wrote — means to her, and said that it’s about an ex-boyfriend. (Cyrus told MTV News last month that much of the album is about ex-boyfriends.)

While Ratner declined to reveal who exactly that ex is, he gave away a significant detail — perhaps inadvertently — that seems to confirm the song is about Nick Jonas. Cyrus recently admitted, after months of unconfirmed speculation, that she dated Jonas for two years.

The Jonas Brothers brought their Burning Up tour to Philadelphia in August 2008.

The ultra popular boy band the Jonas Brothers made their way to Philadelphia early Wednesday morning where they are slated to bring their “Burning Up” tour at the Susquehanna Bank Center Wednesday night.

Fans reportedly begun lining up outside of The Four Seasons hotel in Philadelphia at 1 a.m. where the band held a press conference later in the afternoon.

All three brothers Kevin, Joe, and Nick, were in attendance to announce their partnership with Verizon Wireless to give fans a chance to go on vacation with the band at the Atlantis Paradise Resort in the Bahamas.

“By then our tour will be over I’m glad we are going on vacation with our fans I would start to miss them,” Nick Jonas said at the press conference.

The brothers have been nominated with two MTV Video Music Awards this year for “video of the year” and “best pop video.” The group is also slated to perform live at award show this year.

Malia and Sasha Obama wanted the Jonas Brothers on stage at the Democratic National Convention instead, MTV News reports.

After their mom Michelle’s speech on Monday, she told her girls she had a surprise for them.

Unaware that their dad was going to appear via satellite, Malia, 10, asked, “Is it the Jonas Brothers?”

Turns out, the popular boy band was performing in their Chicago hometown the same week they had to be in Denver for the DNC.

Needless to say, the girls were disappointed.

They’ve long harbored JoBro crushes.

Barack said he even celebrated his recent 47th birthday by drinking beer and watching his daughters dance around to the Jonas’ music on their iPods.

The Jonas Brothers team up with Verizon Wireless and Samsung to announce a contest to win a vacation with them, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Wednesday.

The grand prize includes premium tickets to the private performance concert featuring the Jonas Brothers at Atlantis, Paradise Island, roundtrip airfare, hotel accommodation, car service, and $500 spending money.

“The Jonas Brothers are clearly the hottest act in the nation, and this program makes dreams come true for some of our customers with the trip of a lifetime to Atlantis,” said Ed Ruth, director of digital music for Verizon.

After collecting these stories I have the intent to publish the collection and have it available for people to read. It’s fascinating to see how JB has changed other people’s lives. Making no secret about his battle with diabetes, Nick Jonas is very vocal in raising awareness on the disease among young people. Previously sharing his experience dealing with diabetes to his young fans at New York City’s W Hotel, he’s bringing his involvement to fight the disease to the next level, inviting four lucky fans to join him in a charity walk.

As part of him teaming up with Bayer, Nick is launching Walk in Nick’s Shoes campaign, which offers kids across America a chance to be flown to Los Angeles on November 1 to stroll alongside the Jonas Brothers pin-up at a charity walk, dubbed JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes. In addition to free flight and hotel, winners will also get personal diabetes coach for 1 year.

Kevin had an interview with FRIDA magazine in Sweden when they were there. Dess translated it into English.

Kevin Jonas sits in his hotel room decked out in Gucci loafers, beige jacket and hair all over the place. He has a steady handshake and tells me how happy he is to see everyone before he even sits down. It’s a little exaggerated, he’s the typical american gentleman, no wonder he is all the girl’s favorite.

K: i don’t think of myself as a heartthrob. i think it’s fun to tour and meet girls, we love what we do and without our fans we wouldn’t be where we are today, we’re honored and happy.

His eyes are humble as he talks about his career with his brothers.

K: we’ve toured for three and a half years now and this is our first time in sweden. i was so shocked when i heard we were having a meet and greet, it’s amazing that so many people actually want to meet us, i didn’t think we were known here. but our record lable guy told us there were 400 fans waiting outside, how is that possible when we haven’t even been here before? it’s always so overwhelming.

Joe, Kevin and Nick arrived in Sweden after departing from London at 4 am.

K: i’m super tired, i fell asleep the second i got here. the only thing i’ve seen of sweden so far is this room and the street outside. then again, the street is very beautiful.

He points to Vasagatan, that isn’t very pretty at all, I point out that he looks a little embarrassed.
K: haha ok, but we’re gonna see more of the city later. i have barely met any swedish girls yet. in fact, you’re the only one! but i hope to see more later.

Kevin is single but he knows what kind of girl he is looking for.
K: someone that mom likes and gets along well with my family. i need someone that understands my schedule and loves and cares about me even if i am away touring. physically i don’t really know, but i like girls who dress up. dresses are nice and i like that she thinks about what she wears. even if she’s just going to the beach she should put her hair up and do a little something extra. it shows that she can take care of herself and in the end take care of me as well.

I wonder why Kevin needs a girl to take care of him.
K: well no.. i can take care of myself of course but.. it’s a security knowing that she cares about her looks and stuff, then she can care about other things as well.

Kevin has in earlier interviews said that he’s a virgin saving himself for marriage, he doesn’t want to talk about this but he does reveal that it’s not impossible for someone to be his girlfriend.
K: i try to find time to date. when we meet friends we hang out with girls too, but when we’re on tour it’s a little difficult. in a relationship i think trust and communication are the most important things. the girl has to understand who i am as a person and love me for who i am.

Kevin isn’t the only brother who gets attention from girls, his little brothers are popular as well.
K: the youngest one always gets the most attention! well, it’s very even, no one gets more attention than the others, so fans can absolutely pick a favorite without us getting mad. we don’t count who gets to sign the most autographs or anything, it’s never been a competition and there never will be.

When the Jonas Brothers tour the world, they have their entire family with them.
K: we like that we can bring out family with us. we almost never fight, a lot of people are surprised that we get along as well as we do. we only fight about small things, like if someone took my shirt or my socks. when you’re on tour we can’t bring a lot of clothes so if someone wears my shirt i don’t have any shirt at all to wear the next day, it’s hard to find the time to do laundry on the road.

Their first movie Camp Rock premiered in June and was seen by 9 million people, which is the population of Sweden.
K: wow, really? that’s hot. i haven’t been in the states since it premiered so i can only imagine what it’s like back home. it’s fun that our debut movie is doing so well!

Kevin’s favorite memory from the shoot.
K: joe’s character was supposed to run from some girls and he tripped and nearly faceplanted, and it wasn’t even planned! we laughed so much when we saw it, because they kept it in the movie.

All of a sudden we’re out of time and Kevin’s two younger brothers enter the room. They’re so charming, especially middle brother Joe, that winks at me, and is very flirtatious. The brothers are having their pictures taken then they’re off to greet the 400 girls waiting for them, and if they keep this up the crowd’s are gonna double in time for their next visit.

The Jonas Brothers–three adorable haircuts related by birth and a willingness to appear on any talk show that will have them–are the latest teen act to attempt to transcend cuteness and achieve a measure of credibility with people who have no interest in taking them to the prom. Every time a band tries this, someone at its record company invariably mentions the early-’60s Beatles–it could happen!–but that only serves to reinforce how long the odds are, and the Jonas Brothers have already made it tough on themselves. There is the fact that all three brothers wear purity rings and have forsworn the temptations of sex and drugs, which wipes out large swaths of potential songwriting material. Also, they are products of the famously regimented Disney media machine, and their appearances on Hannah Montana and starring roles in Camp Rock don’t suggest any hidden expertise at plumbing the rougher edges of existence. Finally, look at them: How can anyone be expected to rock out to a band cuter than the Muppets?

That said–and the sound you hear is the reluctant swallowing of some primo critical bile–the Jonas Brothers are not bad. Pretty good, even. All 12 songs on their third album, A Little Bit Longer, are about girls, and they’re evenly divided between hook-filled upbeat rockers and ballads that stop themselves on the tasteful side of treacle. What we learn from these tunes about the various Jonases–Nick, 15, writes most of the songs and sings, while Joe, 19, sings lead vocals and looks handsome, and Kevin, 20, plays guitar–is that they are as honorable as their bios. When they court (Lovebug), they court with good intentions. When they mess up (Sorry), they apologize. When they come back (Can’t Have You), it’s on hands and knees. Apparently some of the courting and crawling stems from young Nick’s rumored past relationship with Miley Cyrus. Hey, there are people–most of the brothers’ fan base, in fact–who might find that interesting.

And typically, the host of “Chelsea Lately” does so without incurring threats of bodily harm.

Then, she took on the JonasBrothers, the squeaky-clean, heartthrob boy band from New Jersey. In a recent sketch, Handler mocked the band’s masculinity, their mismatched hair and their “purity rings” (symbolizing the pop stars’ pledge not to have premarital sex). Later in the bit, Handler sexually manhandled one of the faux brothers — shoving her chest in his face and offering him carnal delights.

Legions of outraged Jonas Brothers devotees unleased their wrath. “Chelsea Handler can go die in a whole! [sic],” read one missive directed at her. Some merely called her names, others were more specific — suggesting Handler die sooner rather than later. The group’s publicist weighed in, albeit more respectfully, threatening to withdraw the cable network’s access to the brothers, Miley Cyrus and other Disney Channel megastars, said Handler…

The tour comes on the heels of the debut of the first Jonas Brothers movie, “Camp Rock,” which aired June 20 and 21 on the Disney Channel, while the same channel continues to air the reality show mini-episodes, “Living the Dream,” which follows three brothers – Nick, 15, Kevin, 20, and Joe, 18, on tour.

Next came the release of the group’s new CD, “A Little Bit Longer,” Aug. 12. Plans also call for filming to begin this fall on a new Disney Channel series, “J.O.N.A.S,” which will feature the three brothers playing spies in an action comedy. Down the road, a book and a 3-D concert movie are in the group’s plans.

In an early June teleconference interview with reporters (conducted while the group was on tour in Europe with Lavigne), Kevin Jonas said the group relishes its mushrooming success and exposure, despite its challenges.

“It’s really crazy,” he said. “But it’s a lot of fun. We’re enjoying every minute of what we do. The schedule we keep is demanding, but it’s definitely an amazing experience. The Jonases have teamed up with Chevy for a Green Team Jonas promotion with a lucrative prize: meeting Disney heartthrobs Nick, Joe and Kevin. The “Chevy Rocks the Road with the Jonas Brothers” poster contest’s theme was about having fun and thinking green, and so-called Chevy Spotters were to be in the parking lots of the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre looking for possible winners.

But many of the posters covered with glitter glue, puffy paint and the blood, sweat and tears of girls were thrown in the trash because there were too many to be judged outside and the posters weren’t allowed in the venue. The ticket takers said the posters were banned because they could obstruct the views of Jonas fans. One worker said the posters would be given to the Jonases later.

But that did little to ease the disappointment of young fans, who were seen dejectedly throwing their posters into large garbage bins before the show.

Lauren Adrian, 13, made a poster for the contest.

“We got there at 4:30, because that’s what the rules said to do. Then we waited in this really long line but there was just way too many people so they said the poster contest was closed,” she said. “I saw some kids crying, but it was still fun to make the poster anyway.”

Adrian said she was told the posters would be put in a box to give to the Jonas Brothers.

The Jonas Brothers — the greatest exports of Wyckoff, N.J., since Tara Reid –steamrolled Sunday night into Tinley Park, filling every square inch of the Midwest Bank Amphitheatre with the relentless shrieks and screams of feverish young ladies.

Oh, the shrieks. They began long before any of the Jonas Brothers — Nick, Kevin and Joe — stepped onstage. Projected onto jumbo screens on either side of the stage between opening act Demi Lovato and the Jobros were text messages from concertgoers.

“Nick J is off the chain,” read one. “Bark if you love Jobros,” read another. And still another beckoned the crowd, which consisted mainly of girls ranging in age from approximately 12 to 17 years old, “Scream if this is the best night of your life.” And scream they did.

Just as women of certain generations proudly boast they saw New Kids on the Block 20 years ago or ‘N Sync 10 years ago, this sold-out obsess fest will undoubtedly become an indelible memory for the droves of tweens and teens in attendance.

Parents may not fully understand, but to a nation of adolescents, Cyrus and the Jonas boys aren’t just pop acts. They’re 24/7 obsessions. To a legion of business execs presiding over a slumping industry, they are trend-defying sales juggernauts. And to culture-watchers, they are the latest in a series of teen-pop acts dating back to Ricky Nelson who serve as a generation’s musical rite of passage.

The latest Jonas Brothers album, “A Little Bit Longer” (Hollywood), is shaping up as one of the year’s best-selling rock releases. It debuted at No. 1 last week with 525,000 discs sold, following up its 1.3 million-selling 2007 self-titled predecessor, which rose to No. 10—the first time any artist has had two albums in the top 10 simultaneously in nine years. The new album includes an unprecedented three straight hits that generated more than 100,000 downloads each at the iTunes store. A few weeks earlier, Cyrus’ second album, “Breakout” (Hollywood), also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart with more than 370,000 sales, the biggest week this year by a female artist not named Mariah Carey.

The Jonas Brothers literally recorded their new album on the go – A Little Bit Longer was taped on their tour bus.

The trio of superstar siblings begged their managers to fit their van with a recording studio – so that they could record their third LP while on the road with teen sensation Miley Cyrus.

Youngest brother Nick Jonas explains, “We knew that we wouldn’t have much time (to record in a studio), because we were about to go shoot (Disney movie) Camp Rock, and right after that, we’d be on tour with Miley. So… we asked our management team, ‘How can we get into the studio to do this?’ We wound up bringing a tour bus out on the road that was retro-fitted to be a studio.”

But the travelling recording sessions were not without their technical glitches.

Jonas adds: “Obviously, there were some vocal things that needed to be redone, and some drums, because you’d have the generator of the bus in the background. So when we finished the tour, we went into the studio to make a couple of fixes here and there, and basically the rest of it was done!”

Fans of the Jonas Brothers started arriving at Nationwide Arena as early as 8:30 yesterday morning for a show scheduled to begin at 7 last night.

When asked to describe their sound, the response is equally simplistic: They create a “rock feel, overlaid with pop vocals.”

Nothing complicated, though they also cite Elvis Costello (who certainly qualifies as a complex composer and a critical darling) as an inspiration, and give props to Jefferson Starship, Prince and The Beatles. “There’s a lot of music we listened to growing up,” Joe says. “Our parents liked the Bee Gees.”

Can things get any better for the Jonas Brothers? They have three albums in the top 10 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, including the soundtrack to “Camp Rock” and their new one, A Little Bit Longer, which debuted at #1. Plus, the boys — Joe, Nick and Kevin — have a legion of dedicated and loving teenage fans.

And now the boys can add style mavens and rock-and-roll all-stars to their list of this week’s achievements. This afternoon, while taking a tour of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio, the guys donated the three suits they wore on the cover of their smash album A Little Bit Longer to the museum.

The Jonas’ presented the suits to Jim Henke, vice president of the Rock Hall. The suits are part of the Right Here, Right Now! exhibit, which celebrates some of today’s hottest artists. And really, does it get any hotter than the Jonas Brothers?

They are the latest act to get a spot in the exhibit, which opened up earlier this summer and features memorabilia from artists and bands like Good Charlotte, Phantom Planet, John Mayer and Usher.

In addition to the Jonas Brothers’ suits, music fans can also check out Ryan Adams’ 1967 Gibson Southern Jumbo guitar and the dress that Paramore’s Hayley Williams wore in the “Emergency” video as well as on the 2006 Vans Warped Tour. Also on hand is the jumpsuit worn by Feist in the “1234? video and Colbie Caillat’s acoustic guitar.

12:30 p.m. — Rock and Roll Hall of Fame conference room. Two pools of reporters, one local and the other from Japan and Brazil, are listening to many, many instructions before we join the Jonas Brothers (insert reflexive scream here) on the special tour/photo op/interview/artifact presentation.

Most of the rules are from the rock hall officials, and it’s obvious that the brothers’ tour/photo/interview op has been carefully planned, with curator Jim Henke and Meredith Rutledge set to take the trio around the building. The Jonas Brothers — Nick, Kevin and Joe — have been a busy trio during their one day in Cleveland.

Disney’s current teen dream team took a special tour of the rock hall, presented clothes from the group’s latest album to the collection, held two news conferences and performed a three song set ‘’sound-check party” for Verizon, one of its sponsors. And the boys met and greeted some 350 fans, all before going on stage and performing a 90-minute set of songs at Blossom.

So how does it feel to be on tour with the No. 1 band in the land? It feels like . . . camping? Yeah – a bit like camping, Kevin Jonas said, holding court with his brothers, Joe and Nick – ladies and gentlemen, the Jonas Brothers! – aboard their well-appointed tour bus as it cruised southbound on I-77.

“We’re outdoors all the time,” Kevin said. “We’re having a blast.”

Before their sold-out concert Friday night in front of 20,000 fans at Blossom Music Center, the Jonas Brothers dropped by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in the early afternoon for a rock ‘n’ roll history lesson.

Kevin, Joe and Nick (they’re on a first-name basis with every tween and teen girl in the country) have been making history themselves lately. The pop-rock trio’s latest album, “A Little Bit Longer,” debuted at No. 1 this week on the Billboard album chart.

Fans call them the JoBros for short. Tour insiders refer to them simply as “the boys.”

What is the sound of one hand clapping? I think we can safely cross a Jonas Brothers concert off the list of possible answers to that ancient Zen riddle.

The ultra-catchy pop-rock of Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas was amped up loud when they brought their Burning Up Tour to Blossom Music Center for a sold-out gig Friday evening. It had to be, lest the music be drowned out by 20,000 ecstatic showgoers, mostly girls in their tweens and teens.

It felt like summer’s last gasp — and summer went down screaming its lungs out.

Days, weeks and months of pent-up anticipation erupted into a primal squeal – AAAIIIEEEEE! — as the JoBros announced their arrival with “That’s Just the Way We Roll,” a sticky-sweet battle cry for a new generation. “Where would we be if we couldn’t dream?” they sang…

K: definitely.

Are you in love right now?
K: no, none of us have a girlfriend right now. we try to date and we want to date, but we are so busy. but i walk around and fall in love with different girls every day.

What does your dreamgirl look like?
K: i like darker girls, italian girls are really beautiful! or well, blondes too, like swedish girls, wow! and i like girls who care about what they wear, not the kind of girl who bums around in sweatpants.

What would the world be without love?
K: ugh, very, very boring. it feels like life wouldn’t have any meaning. i read a book a while ago and it was about a loveless world.. i don’t remember the name of it, but it was really sad.

You’re in the new disney channel movie camp rock, have you been to camp as well?
K: oh yeah, me and my brothers went to camp several years in a row, and it was a blast. we thought it was awesome to be away from home for a while and we never wanted to go back. to us it was a nice way to get away and have fun without our parents, it was probably a good way for us to prepare for our summer tours, haha.

You seem to care about the inviroment.
K: oh yeah, it’s definitely a very important thing to our generation. so when we have the opportunity as a band to reach out and educate young people, we think that’s our responsibility. we want the earth to be around for our grandchildren.

Ok.
K: on our next tour we’re gonna have like 17 buses with equipment and people and that doesn’t sound too good, but we’re gonna try to use biofuel. we try to do everything we can.

Do you and your brothers fight?
K: not really, we get along really well. the only time we fight is when someone takes someone elses clothes, because when you’re on tour you don’t bring too much clothing so everyone is really protective of their own. i don’t mind if joe or nick borrows my clothes, as long as they wash them afterwards!

Messiest brother?
K: ew, that’s probably me. but it’s not as bad as it looks, it’s organized chaos!

Makes the best food?
K: none of us! we’re terrible cooks. our mom makes the best food.

Likes to sleep in?
K: nick! he’s impossible to wake up.

Has the best dance moves?
K: hm, joe. but we all like to dance!

Gets the most girls?
K: frankie! hahaha!

Hey M Girls!

Okay as promised, I will be posting TONS of videos and pics from my trip to Virginia Beach with the Jonas Brothers over the next few days.

JB and I went to the Naval Air Station Oceana where JB did a meet a greet with 150 raffle winners and got a tour of the base. I asked the boys what they thought of the whole experience and here’s what they said:

Kim’s day with JB — Blog #2!

Hey M Girls!

Yesterday I mentioned that I saw JB fly a plane by themselves while we visited the Naval base – and I did… sorta!

The boys each got to go into a flight simulator and were taught how to fly an actual Navy plane. Even Frankie got to try it out! It was totally awesome!

I was in a simulator with Nick and he was telling me that he’d love to get his pilot’s license one day! In fact, the boys got so into it, the commander linked the simulators together and they raced! Nick and Kev even started to fire missiles at each other! It was seriously the coolest thing I’ve ever seen!

I wasn’t allowed to take any pics or videos of the boys flying, but I did take a video of a commander showing them a plane. Nick, Joe and Kevin were so amazed!

Let’s dish:
-If JB could fly a plane for real, where would you want them to take you?

I still have TONS more videos from my big JB trip — but the only way to see them is to check back every day! And who knows — I might even post more than one a day!

On the front page of the Virginia Pilot, a paper in Southeastern Virginia, the Jonas Brothers were one of the top headline. The article said:

“If you were in Virginia Beach on Tuesday and experienced sudden, sharp pains in your ears, you may not have a serious problem – you simple caught the remnants of the deafening screams of teenage girls shrieking at the sight of the boy band Jonas Brothers. From about noon to 6 p.m., the Disney trio scuttled around the city in burgundy SUVs. They spent most of their time at Oceana Naval Air Station, where more than 100 contest winners met with them. Then, Navy officers let Nick. Joe and Kevin try a flight simulator and later climb into an F/A-18 fighter jet. We wanted to write and say thanks for making A LITTLE BIT LONGER the NUMBER 1 CD in the US and Canada. We could not have done this without all of you and your support. You have made our dreams come true!!!

Also, we just found out that our last CD, JONAS BROTHERS, came back into the Top 10 at Number 10. And CAMP ROCK is still in the Top 10 at Number 8. Our label told us that *NSYNC was the last group to have 2 CDs in the Top 10 in 1999. This does not include Camp Rock.

While preliminary sales estimates had the Jonas Brothers selling as many as 725,000 copies of their latest LP, A Little Bit Longer, during its first week on record store shelves, it turns out those projections — which were based on first-day scans — were slightly generous. But the good news (at least for the Jonases) is that, as expected, they’ve still managed to open on top, scoring them the first #1 debut of their young career.

According to Nielsen SoundScan, A Little Bit Longer sold just over 525,000 copies during week one, making it one of the year’s best-selling debuts. On top of that, the Jonas Brothers’ 2007 self-titled effort returns to the Top 10 on next week’s Billboard albums sales chart, at #10, after selling another 31,000 units, marking the first time a group has done so since ‘NSYNC back in late 1998; that’s when that act’s 1998 self-titled effort claimed the #2 spot with 535,700 sold, and 1998’s Home for Christmas rounded out the Top 10 with 265,600 copies scanned.

onas Brothers land their first #1 album on The Billboard 200. Their album, A Little Bit Longer, opens with sales of 525,000 copies. That’s the highest first-week total by a teen-aged act since Britney Spears’ third album, Britney, opened with sales of 746,000 in November 2001. (Spears was 19 at the time.) The brothers’ new album sold more copies in its first week than their previous album, Jonas Brothers, sold in its first 16 weeks combined.

Jonas Brothers-Kevin, 20, Joe, 19 and Nick, 15-is the second group to reach #1 that included two teenagers. New Kids On The Block hit #1 with Hangin’ Tough in September 1989 when two members-Joey McInytre, 16, and Jordan Knight, 19-were still in their teens. (In a neat coincidence, New Kids’ Greatest Hits debuts this week at #22.)

The brothers’ sophomore album, Jonas Brothers, jumps from #11 to #10. This is the first time a group has placed two albums in the top 10 simultaneously since another teen sensation, *NSYNC, scored for five weeks in late 1998 with their debut album N Sync and their holiday album Home For Christmas.

Jonas Brothers have made rapid climb to the top. The new album’s first-week sales are more than seven times the opening-week sales of Jonas Brothers. That album debuted (and peaked) at #5 in August 2007 with first-week sales of 69,000. The trio’s out-of-print 2006 debut album, It’s About Time, bowed (and peaked) at #91 in August 2006, with first-week sales of 10,000.

As expected, the Jonas Brothers score their first No. 1 album on The Billboard 200 this week with “A Little Bit Longer.” The Hollywood effort bows with 525,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan, the third biggest sales frame this year behind Lil Wayne’s “Tha Carter III” (1,006,000) and Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends” (721,000).

The trio also scores the rare feat of having two albums simultaneously in the upper-most echelon of the chart, as their self-titled sophomore set rises 11-10 with 31,000 (-4%) in its 54th chart week. It’s the first time a group has scored two concurrent top 10 albums since ‘N Sync on the chart dated Jan. 2, 1999, with “Home for Christmas” at No. 10 and “‘N Sync” at No. 2.

But that’s not all. The soundtrack to the Disney film “Camp Rock,” which stars — you guessed it — the Jonas Brothers, stays put at No. 8 for a second week with 50,000 (+6%)…

Jonas Brothers, “A Little Bit Longer”

While it’s easy for anyone over 19 to complain about the Jonas Brothers taking over the world along with the cover of Rolling Stone, it’s important to give their music a close listen.

Yes, the lyrical introspection is typical for a 20-year-old (the oldest age of the trio), and choruses revolve around boy-loves-girl, boy-loses-girl topics.

But the musicianship is impressive, and like Miley Cyrus’ latest effort, the sound is focused more on guitars than electronic bleeps and studio trickery.

The youngest, Nick, is the best singer of the group, and he is allowed room to breathe on the album’s elegiac closer, “A Little Bit Longer,” a surprisingly affecting song about his struggle with diabetes.

WASHINGTON — Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas were on hand when wax figures in their likeness were unveiled Monday at Madame Tussauds in Washington.

The debut of the wax figures comes as the teen music group releases a new album, “A Little Bit Longer.”

The brothers posed for the cameras with their wax figures, and tween girls with face paint and Jonas Brothers hair ribbons waited to see the newest additions to the museum.

The brothers also filmed a public service announcement at the White House Monday for the National Park Service, encouraging children to be active outdoors.

Their Burning Up tour came to the Nissan Pavilion in Bristow, Va., on Monday night…

Did you ever have any fears that being so open about having diabetes could hurt your image as a teen idol?

“I never really felt that. I was diagnosed in November 2005 and thought that my peers wouldn’t quite fully understand what diabetes was. It wasn’t that I felt that they would judge it. So I explained that I have diabetes, which basically means that my pancreas doesn’t work and that I have to take injections. And, basically, they thought that that was kind of cool!”

“I was never ashamed of having diabetes. Instead, I was always very excited to tell people that I still could live out my dreams and live my life the way I wanted to. That has kind of always been my ambition–to be a positive light.”

But what about your social life? Is diabetes a turn-off to girls?

“The girls I’ve dated have all been very understanding and supportive. Now I’m not ashamed to pull out my meter in a restaurant and test my blood at the table, because I know that my date won’t be like, ‘Whoa! What are you doing?’”

“The same thing goes for my co-stars on the set, such as when we filmed Camp Rock. Generally, their reaction was ‘Hey, whatever you need, we’re here for you.’”

Is it difficult to control your diabetes when you’re performing?

“Generally, we play for about an hour and 45 minutes, which is like intense exercise. If my blood sugar drops, I leave the stage to treat it with orange juice or, if it’s very low, regular soda, and let my brothers cover for me. We’re a team.”

“At the end of the day, what matters most is meeting the kids. A lot of them have come up to me during meet-and-greets and said, ‘I’m also a diabetic, and you’re one of the first people I’ve told since I was diagnosed. You have inspired me.’ I call this a ’simple win’ — being able to inspire kids with diabetes to be positive and to realize that it’s going to be all right. I write a blog for Bayer Diabetes Care at NicksSimpleWins.com where I talk about this.”

Q. So you recorded the album while you were traveling?

Nick: We did. We’d pull to be venues and things and do what we could do. Obviously, there were some vocal things that needed to be redone, and some drums, because you’d have the generator of the bus in the background. So when we finished the tour, we went into the studio to make a couple of fixes here and there, and basically the rest of it was done.

Q. Nick, you have solo writing credit on a couple of the songs, and a couple you wrote collaboratively with your brothers and band members. What inspires you to sit down and write?

Nick: Usually it’s real things, things that actually happened to us. “Sorry,” “Got Me Going Crazy” and “Can’t Have You,” those were all real things that inspired us to write those. And, obviously, “A Little Bit Longer” was really close to my heart. They were all just things we were really inspired to write about, and they just kind of come together.

Q. How about you guys, Joe and Kevin: When your brother comes to you with a song, do you add to it, or can you tell him you’re not really crazy about it?

Kevin: We write our own songs as well, and when someone writes a song, we respect that completely. I think for us we knew that the songs he was writing were right on, and we were never like, “We don’t like that; we can’t have that on the record.” That doesn’t mean we aren’t working together on songs; we’re absolutely open and talking about ideas. But we’re never like, “No, we don’t like that, let’s not use that.”

No company in the world does fantasy better than Disney, but watching The Jonas Brothers at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater Tuesday night, one got the sense that the corporate behemoth with the squeaky mascot had outdone itself.

Last summer, The Jonas Brothers were playing venues like the Virginia State Fair. Tickets could be had for less than $10. Now, thanks to the intervention of Disney’s Hollywood Records who rescued them after being booted from Columbia for low sales, “the boys” as their handlers call them, are packing Madison Square Garden for days at a time. The Amphitheater was sold out.

Sales of throat lozenges and cough drops will likely be through the roof in Tidewater for the next few days, as the hordes of kid, tween and teen girls (and moms) in the audience screeched and squealed. Dressed in self-decorated clothing – the poor things were collectively forced to surrender thousands of homemade signs at the door – they screamed like horror movie ingénues every time the jumbo screens flashed texts messages from people within the crowd….
