BRAZIL:
We mention before that the Jonas Brothers were featured in the popular brazilian magazine, Capricho. They won 2 awards and they also had an interview with them back when they were visiting the Jonas Brothers at their San Diego show. Below is the translation that Laura did for us. If there are any mistakes a bit with grammar or spelling, she tried her best! [Please Credit Nick J Online, Laura]
Capricho was in the same room with the greatest band in the world, the Jonas Brothers, and heard from the brothers the promise that they are coming to Brazil next year.
OMG!!! I have just hugged Nick, Kevin and Joe Jonas. They don’t wear much perfume and have a perfect skin. With those tight eyes, Nick smiles and say: “Hi, how are you?” in portuguese. Amazing, but I can’t scream. So I stay calm, at least in their presence. Joe, who was sitting right in front of me, fixed his hair. He’s kind of addicted to do this. I couldn’t believe i was there yet, face to face with the Jonas Brothers. The interview was placed in the backstage of their show in San Diego, California, a couple hours before it started. In the back, we could hear Demi Lovato’s band doing the soundcheck. She opened for them that night. We were in a plain and small room. I can’t remember the details, I only was able to look at the three brothers. I think they noticed my excitement. Whatever!
As soon as I turn on the recorder, the conversation begins. They confirmed their intention to come to Brazil next year with the world tour. I heard from Kevin the promise: “I’m sure that Brazil is on our list”. The conversation stops when I mention the purity rings. When I ask about what they think of brazilian fans wearing the jewelry, they look at each other and Nick, as the leader of the band, turns to me, those tight eyes again, and says: “We prefer not to talk about that”. I just gave up. Really, if he had asked you, you would do the same. He is the most charming of the three. I owe you that answer!
It was surprising to see how they did jokes with one another. And with me too. The JoBros are well-humored and they are happy. Well, who wouldn’t be that way after aquiring almost 9 million dollars in 2008 and having a huge fan club on their feet? The best part was when one had to tell a secret of the other. We laugh a lot. By the way Joe gives you a tip about how you can conquer him, you’ll see.
What do you do when you’re not working?
NICK: We don’t do nothing special. We like to play videogame, like Guitar Hero. We do what guys of our age do. Sometimes we go to the movies with our friends. We only want to live our dream and play to our fans.

Disney darlings the Jonas Brothers just wrapped the second leg of the massive Burning Up tour in support of debut album, It’s About Time, with additional dates sprinkled throughout the fall and winter. Operating under the philosophy that more really is more, the brothers approached co-production designers John LaBriola and Rob Brenner to come up with designs that would work well in arenas and amphitheatres. The second leg was to be bigger and better, and like the previous leg, LED/video content played a starring role.
The design mandate was to keep it colorful and moving. “The show was very energetic, and I wanted the visual elements to play a large part in that with lots of accents and changes — as a big choreographed part of the performance without upstaging it,” LaBriola says.
Although there was no dedicated original projection on this leg of the tour, Screenworks provided a number of screens, including one high-resolution 24′×14′ Toshiba 10mm screen upstage center that dominated the show with I-Mag footage mixed with some stock content LaBriola tweaked. “Lighting came secondary to make the scenes and add the emphasis to each song,” he explains. “I essentially aimed for beginning, middle, and end with every song with the video.” The tour also had a mix of Panasonic and Sony 20mm screens, as well as lower res strips, also from Screenworks.
