BURBANK, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–From sold out shows to the big and small screens, the Jonas Brothers will take over the video game world as well this holiday. Disney Interactive Studios today announced the development of JONAS for Nintendo DS. The game allows players to take on the role of three superstar brothers – Nick, Joe and Kevin Lucas in outrageous adventures from the Disney Channel comedy series “JONAS.” Players help the JONAS band members juggle concerts, school, friends and fans to find the balance between their rock star world and ordinary lives.

“JONAS is the perfect complement to the hit television show, giving fans additional access to the Jonas Brothers as they portray the Lucas Brothers?their music, their fashion and their lives,” said Craig Relyea, senior vice president of global marketing, Disney Interactive Studios. “The game delivers a unique blend of adventure, humor and music that will keep fans of the Jonas Brothers entertained and engaged this holiday season.”

Based on the Disney Channel comedy series, the game follows the Lucas brothers as they go about their everyday, but not so normal lives. It features other main characters from the show, including good friends Macy and Stella, and lets fans explore familiar locations including the brother’s firehouse and school as seen in the television show. Players can also customize the JONAS band members’ wardrobe for their daytime antics, as well as cool outfits for when they take the stage.

Featuring interactive environments, JONAS allows players to collect musical notes to power up their guitars and then strike the right guitar chords to overcome obstacles and help the JONAS band members. The game also features hit songs from the “JONAS” television show. Fans will be able to perform to the songs in concerts after each level is completed.

In addition, JONAS includes access to DGamer, the online community exclusively for Disney gamers on the Nintendo DS, allowing them to chat with other players and unlock additional items in their game.

Just weeks into its run with the new show “Jonas,” the Disney Channel has moved original episodes from Saturday to Sunday.

The show, while doing okay in the Nielsens against super-tough Nickelodeon fare on Saturdays, hasn’t set the ratings on fire nor even come close to matching the excitement the Jonas Brothers – Nick, Joe and Kevin – have gained before.

Until late last week, Disney had “Jonas” scheduled for Saturday, but viewers instead found the film “Cars.”
A Disney spokeswoman said the network usually airs a summer schedule from Memorial weekend through August, and the “Jonas” move was part of that plan. Starting this weekend, films will fill Saturdays, and comedy series Fridays and Sunday.

“In addition to its Sunday airing, ‘Jonas’ will be seen in other time slots throughout the summer to provide viewers an opportunity to sample the series,” she said.

“Jonas” stars the Jonas Brothers as the Lucas Brothers, a group of school kids who also have a rock band called Jonas.

What recession? No one would know we’re in an economic crisis by the number of top music acts on the road this summer. Or maybe it’s because of the recession, and the need to boost revenues. Whatever the reason, summer brings a crowded concert season, with some tours already under way.

No concerts are likely to be more crowded than those for the Jonas Brothers — those white-hot ‘tween dreams. The frenzy only promises to increase with the June 15 release of the New Jersey trio’s album, ”Lines, Vines and Trying Times.”

The boys have sold out most dates on their North American summer tour. Area dates include July 14 and 15 at Izod Center in East Rutherford, N.J., and July 23 and 24 at Wachovia Center in Philadelphia. In all, the brothers have sold more than a staggering 800,000 tickets for this leg of the tour. The shows will be staged ”in the round,” meaning more front row views than ever.

Some acts have slashed ticket prices to compensate for the economy, but Jonas Brothers seats sold out despite prices as much as $86.50 for area shows, meaning fans are willing to pay to see their faves.

Asked about the higher prices in a March interview to announce the tour, youngest brother Nick Jonas said, ”We wanted to find a way to provide a bigger and better show for our fans and this was one of the ways we had to do so.”

So if you have the money, there’s plenty out there this summer — and even some great shows if you don’t:

More ‘tween acts: The Jonas buzz is so strong, there’s lots of heat by association. Demi Lovato, 16, who opened for the brothers’ tour last summer (including a stop at Allentown Fair) and starred with the trio in last June’s Disney Channel movie ” Camp Rock,” is on a solo tour. Of course, it helps that Lovato stars on her own Disney show, ”Sonny With A Chance,” had a No. 2 album with her debut ”Don’t Forget” last year, and has ”American Idol” runner-up David Archuleta as her opening act. Her stock also is likely to rise with the June 26 release of the Disney Channel movie ”Princess Protection Program” and a new disc, still untitled, July 21. She stops June 22 at Wachovia Arena At Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre, on June 27 at Philadelphia’s Mann Center for Performing Arts, Aug. 21 at Hersheypark Amphitheatre and Aug. 22 at Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City…

Hola from South America!

We just arrived in Rio and it is so beautiful and the people are so nice. We have loved visiting all of the different countries. There have been so many fans everywhere we have been. Their love and support of music is incredible. As you can see from the photo I posted this month, we even found time (and a place) for a game of wiffle ball.

Once we finish here it is back to the States for final rehearsals and tweaking of the new show on the new stage. I can’t wait for all of you to see it – it is massive. We will also be doing promotion for our new CD. Mark your calendars June is going to be filled with lots of JB activities, most importantly the release of our album on June 16th as well as the start of our US leg of the World Tour officially kicks of June 20th in Dallas!

The creativity contest is in full swing and I’m so impressed with all of the new entries. We have picked our first monthly winner – so if you haven’t already, be sure to get your entry in. I know this may know, I work on Honor Society Online. The following news may not be fully Jonas Brothers related but I wanted to spread the word! As you may know, the Jonas Brothers’ group of friends, Honor Society (HS Member, Alex Noyes was JB’s former drummer) is the opening act for the World Tour 2009.

However, they made a big announcement that they are having another tour within the World Tour called the Full Moon Crazy Tour presented by Verizon. It will be a tour dates that are Pre-Show or Post-Show around several North American JB dates.

SPOTTING: On Tuesday night, Kevin Jonas was spotted at Highland Park Village shopping then at Nick & Sam’s Steakhouse for dinner in Dallas, Texas. He was with Sarah Everhart and her daughter, Peyton (which is his godchild).
