We started 2009 working on our TV show, JONAS. It was a new experience for us to work everyday on the set of a TV show. We were getting up early every morning and working until nighttime. It was hard work but so much fun, especially with our co-stars, Chelsea and Nicole.
The first thing we did on January 4th was schedule a show at the legendary Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. We invited some of our favorite artists from Nashville to join us on stage. It was one of our favorite shows of all time. We were on stage with our friends Jordin Sparks, Brad Paisley, Martina McBride, Michael W. Smith, Steven Curtis Chapman, Amy Grant, Vince Gill, Phil Vassar and others.
We were also excited about our nomination for a Grammy as Best New Artist. The Grammy Awards were one of the great thrills of our lives. We were able to perform with Stevie Wonder. We sang our song, Burnin’ Up, and then sang Superstition together. It will forever be one of the great moments of our lives.
Performed at the Kids Inaugural for President Obama and his family and then performed for the first daughters in the White House.
Our 3D Concert Film became the #2 Concert Film of All Time (now #3 following Michael Jackson’s new movie and the Hannah Montana 3D movie, which we were a part of as well)
Performed at the Houston Rodeo (we will be back again this year in March)

Check out the first official image from Camp Rock 2!
In the upcoming TV movie, Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas reprise their roles as Shane and Mitchie. The twosome return to Camp Rock for another summer of music and fun. Their love blossoms as they battle against a new state-of-the-art music camp called Camp Star that has opened across the lake.
Joe and Demi both caught up with People mag to dish on working with each other again and their on-screen romance. Demi revealed about working with the brothers again: “They are so easy to work with and we just hangout and have fun. They are like my brothers and they are my best friends. They always make me laugh.”
Joe shared about the Shane and Mitchie romance, “The romance between Shane and Mitchie is still there and it continues to grow. They want to spend more time together but [finding time is a bit] difficult for them to do, because she is trying to help out the camp as much as she can.”
You can catch a sneak peek of the upcoming movie TONIGHT during Disney Channel’s New Year’s Eve Showdown, starting at 6PM ET/PT.

Prince’s New Power Generation band is having a reunion. The weird thing is, it’s doing so on the upcoming tour by Nick Jonas, better known as the dreamiest third of the tween sensation the Jonas Brothers.
Three members of Jonas’ backing group, the Administration — drummer Michael Bland, keyboardist Tommy Barbarella and guitarist Sonny Thompson — were original members of Prince’s NPG band, which was formed in 1991 and still exists, with a different set of musicians (it has undergone many lineup changes over the years).
Prince “is and always has been a big influence for me. This record, especially,” says Jonas, 17, referring to the Nick Jonas and The Administration album “Who I Am”, which is due out Feb. 2. (His tour with the Administration begins tomorrow in Dallas, and comes to New York’s Beacon Theatre on Thursday and Jan. 8.)
He says that Bland, who played on the Jonas Brothers’ 2009 album “Lines, Vines and Trying Times,” helped sign up the other former NPG members for the project, and that the album has a “raw, rock-funk feel.”
Jonas says the Jonas Brothers — who have been hugely popular, particularly among pre-teen girls, from 2007 on — are still very much together, and that his new songs conceivably could have been recorded by them.
“It’s not that I thought it couldn’t be done by the Jonas Brothers,” he says. “It was just about me branching out, and showing people who I am as an artist and a musician. I think all of us have individual dreams and ambitions, along with dreams as a group.”
His Jonas Brothers bandmates, Kevin (who got married on Dec. 19) and Joe, were very supportive, he says, and will tape more episodes of their Disney Channel show “JONAS” and, possibly, tour later this year. There probably won’t be a new Jonas Brothers album until next year, though.
Nick — who grew up in Wyckoff and lives in Dallas — cites Elvis Costello and Bruce Springsteen as other influences on the album: Costello for his lyrics, and Springsteen for both the big sound of the E Street Band and the iconic look of his album covers. The cover of “Who I Am” features a black-and-white shot of Jonas, clutching his guitar and looking serious, with an urban skyline behind him.
“Who I Am” includes a remake of “Tonight,” from the Jonas Brothers’ 2008 album, “A Little Bit Longer,” and Jonas says he will probably perform at least a few Jonas Brothers songs on the Administration tour.
“I’ll be doing some Jonas Brothers songs that I feel a personal connection to,” he says. ” ’A Little Bit Longer,’ a song I wrote about my diabetes, might be one. ‘Black Keys,’ from the last album (‘Lines, Vines and Trying Times’),
I really like playing live. It’s all up in the air right now. But I will play the whole record by Nick Jonas and the Administration, and some covers as well, and we’ll see what happens.”
Nick Jonas steps out of his comfort zone

DECEMBER 30, 2009 IN FEATURES.
When Nick Jonas releases the full-length debut from his new band, Nick Jonas and the Administration, in February, it just might squash a few widely held preconceptions — not only of what kind of music a Jonas Brother is capable of making, but of what kind of album can be recorded in country music’s capital.
Jonas recorded the disc, entitled Who I Am, at Nashville’s Blackbird Studios in the spring of 2009, during a two-week break from Jonas Brothers duties. His band is comprised of a team of A-list musicians who’ve backed up the likes of Prince, Backstreet Boys, Switchfoot and Rob Thomas.
We caught up with Nick Jonas during another rare break: while he was out Christmas shopping with his family. He shared his thoughts on the project, the future of the Jonas Brothers and Nashville in advance of his concert on Monday, Jan. 4 at the Ryman Auditorium.
Your Ryman show on Monday comes exactly one year after you performed there with the Jonas Brothers and special guests. We’re starting to get the feeling that you like that room.
“Yeah, I think we’re going to try to make it an annual thing. Every time you’re there, you can kind of feel the presence of the legends that played there. The crowd is full of musicians who are probably better than I am. I try to keep that in mind and have a good time.”
What made you choose Nashville as the setting to record your solo album?
“All of us in the band wanted to step outside of our comfort zone, to go to a place where we hadn’t spent too much time before, where we could get away from our element. We wanted to focus on this record.”
What led to the decision to make a new project? Had these songs been kicking around for years, or did you write them with a new project in mind?
“The writing for this record really started in October of last year. I was writing songs that, stylistically, weren’t necessarily like the Jonas Brothers sound, and I didn’t know what to do with them. I met with my brothers and talked to them about this idea that I had to do a side project, to go to Nashville with these guys and record (an album). I wanted to make sure that they were OK with it first before I made any move on it. They said, ‘We’re excited for you. We know that you have a lot that you’re passionate about, and we’re here to support you.’ So that worked out nicely.”
The Administration’s first live performance was during the televised Grammy nominations concert on CBS. What’s it like starting a brand new project with such a high profile? Is it a new kind of pressure for you?
“It is, but there’s also a sense of newness to it as well. It’s kind of like starting over in a way, although the opportunities I’ve been given to premiere this project have been great so far.”
You made this album during a rare two-week break from Jonas Brothers duties. Do you consider yourself a workaholic? Is it hard for you to take breaks?
“It is. I don’t think I’m a workaholic, necessarily. I know that there are people out there who are much more talented than I am who would love to be able to play with some of these guys and to do what I get to do, so I’m just trying to take advantage of the opportunity, and really trying to enjoy each moment.”
Are fans keen on the idea of you spending time away from your brothers? What has their response been like?
“So far the response has been amazing from the fans. Seeing that they’ve been so supportive and so passionate really shows me that the Jonas Brothers are so strong. It’s true that we have the best fans in the world, so I’m thankful for them and all that they do every day to support us.”
Do you think The Administration’s sound hints at all at where the Jonas Brothers might go stylistically in the future?
“I’m not sure. We’re trying to continue to grow and learn as much as we can along the way. I think that we’re going to take a little while on the next record, really take our time, considering that we’ve released four albums in three and a half years. We all kind of said, ‘Let’s take our time on the next one and really do it the right way.’ That’s what we’re planning to do.”
Would you consider working in Nashville again for any future projects?
“I think so. I love Nashville. It’s Music City. The people there are amazing. It’s crazy to think that you can walk down the street and probably two out of five people you see are musicians or songwriters of some sort. It makes for a good environment to be creative in.”
Capitol Cause Celeb: Nick Jonas Leads Diabetic Children to the Hill

By KIKI RYAN
Singer-songwriter Nick Jonas — one of the heartthrobs of the Jonas Brothers — used his vocals for more than song this year.
In June, the 17-year-old testified before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs on behalf of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
For Jonas, who has Type 1 diabetes, it’s personal.
“I was just happy to be able to share my story and hope to inspire others to do the same,” Jonas told POLITICO about his day on the Hill.
The message was heard by the elected officials but also by 150 members of JDRF’s Children’s Congress. The members, who travel biannually to the Capitol to meet with their representatives and senators, range in age from 4 to 17 and represent all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Jonas helped transform his fellow diabetics into a motivated group of grass-roots activists who sat down to talk with their representatives on the Hill, according to JDRF officials. “What we saw that day was a confidence in these kids that I have never seen before,” said Larry Soler, executive vice president for government relations at JDRF.
Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) worked with JDRF’s Children’s Congress for her fifth time this year and noticed the impact Jonas had.
“Having special guest witnesses, such as Nick Jonas, actress Mary Tyler Moore and boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard helps draw media attention to this serious illness,” said Collins, the ranking Republican on the Homeland Security Committee. “But — and this is especially the case with Nick Jonas — they are great role models for children who live with Type 1 diabetes. Nick was gracious enough to spend time talking to the young delegates and showing them that it is possible to lead a healthy, productive life while living with this disease.”
Jonas met with Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.) and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).
Since his visit to the Hill, more than 170 members have been in contact with JDRF to help it gather co-sponsors for a House bill, the first step to renew the legislation at a funding level of $200 million annually.
“Getting key members of Congress involved is crucial to making big things happen for diabetics around the world,” Jonas acknowledged.
Rep. Mike Castle (R-Del.), co-chairman of the Congressional Diabetes Caucus, is one of those key members.
“I am pleased to lead the effort with colleagues in the Diabetes and Native American Cauci to renew the Special Diabetes Program for five years,” Castle told POLITICO, adding he is “committed to supporting legislative activities that would improve diabetes research, education and treatment.”
Collins, who was critical in extending the original legislation, is hopeful.
“This year’s hearing will help us to generate even more support to extend this important program far into the future,” she said.
Jonas traveled back to Washington again in August for the issue. He appeared at the National Press Club as an ambassador for Bayer Diabetes Care, a program that promotes management of the condition with the company’s products.
And the musician, who has said one of his dreams is to be president, isn’t done with Washington.
“I hope to come back once again to help raise awareness,” he said. “What is important is that we were able to raise awareness and hopefully in the new year we will be able to see continued progress.”

JoBro fans call him “the talented one”—something of a dubious distinction for someone who’s all of 17 years old—but, to his credit, Nick Jonas certainly seems to have a decent grasp on the music industry. His own family band’s massive success aside, looking back, it appears as if the youngest JoBro has been setting himself up for an eventual solo turn since the whole Jonas Brothers phenomenon started; interviews with major publications have found Nick name-checking a cast of influences far beyond the contemporary realm, and when he conducted an October 2008 Rolling Stone interview with his supposed hero Elvis Costello, the concept was far less hokey and more insightful than anyone had the right to expect.
So, no, maybe the fact that Nick is the first Jonas to go solo (if only as a side project) isn’t a surprise. This shouldn’t be either: The title track and first single, “Who I Am,” off his upcoming Nick Jonas and the Administration debut, is an enjoyable enough pop-rock ditty, more rootsy than the pop fare to which Jonas fans have become accustomed, but just as lovelorn as most would expect. Still, the ambition is there: Both the band name and the album, slated for release one month to the day after this, the band’s concert debut (not counting an appearance at the Grammy nominations party), center around Nick’s “fascination with the presidency.”
Think the Jonases are big now? Wait till his fans vote him into office in the ’40s. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
Opening this show is soulful up-and-coming piano-pop musician Diane Birch.
Rihanna And Lady Gaga Top Our List Of 2009’s Most Stylish Stars
Jonas Brothers and Taylor Lautner rep for the guys in our fashion countdown.

It seems that 2009 was the year that it was cool to be out-there when it came to style. Whether it was Taylor Swift’s classic fashion sense or Rihanna and Lady Gaga’s cool, avant-garde aesthetic, style this year wasn’t about what people wanted you to be, but how you wanted people to see you.
The Jonas Brothers are three guys who know that skinny suits, plaid and a brand-new haircut will always get the girls screaming. Whether they were traveling the world for their tour, catching lunch with a girl or hitting up a red carpet, the guys’ hip, downtown style remained young and fresh.

“I’m the one responsible for getting them together since I hit on Danielle first. If you ever need relationship advice, you can always go to Nick.”
-Joe Jonas, delivering one of the toasts at brother Kevin’s wedding to Danielle Deleasa, where Joe served as Best Man (as did brother Nick). The couple shared the details of their nuptials with People magazine, where they disclosed everything from their famous friends on the guest list (Jordin Sparks, Demi Lovato, Joey Fatone) to the catering (the menu was designed by noted celebrity chef and flying ham victim Paula Dean). Following the wedding, the newlyweds spent their honeymoon in Mexico, and both of them seemed to really love the way everything turned out. “I always wanted my wedding to have that princess feel,” Deleasa said. “I couldn’t have imagined this.” Kevin added, “I’ve never seen a more beautiful bride. Danielle had everything I was looking for and so much more.”
