Youngest JoBro will take over Daniel Radcliffe’s role in ‘How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying’ next year.

Nick Jonas is ready to head back to the stage. No, he hasn’t announced a new tour. The teen star is about to take on the Great White Way.

Jonas is set to play J. Pierrepont Finch, the lead role in “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.” He’ll follow in the footsteps of Daniel Radcliffe, who is in the show until January 1, and “Glee” star Darren Criss, who takes over for three weeks on January 3. Jonas will settle into the show starting January 24 and end his run on July 1, 2012.

“It’s official. I’m coming back to Broadway,” he tweeted on Wednesday (September 7). “So excited & honored to play the role of J. Pierrepont Finch in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying next year!”

Jonas actually has quite a long history in musical theater, including roles in “A Christmas Carol,” “Les Misérables,” “Beauty and the Beast” and “Annie Get Your Gun.” (He played Marius in “Les Misérables” for the 25th anniversary concert in London.) Nick has also had a lot of practice with singing onscreen for the Disney network. Along with brothers Kevin and Joe, he has appeared in the successful “Camp Rock” movies. And just this past summer the youngest Jonas Brother played Link Larkin in the Hollywood Bowl’s run of “Hairspray.”

Not long before he hit the stage for that show, Nick shared with MTV News the steps he was taking to brush up on his dance moves. “I did some salsa dancing; just went out and did some salsa dancing, which was a really fun experience,” he said. “And, I think, kind of got me moving a little bit.

Will you catch Nick when he kicks off his Broadway run next year? Tell us in the comments!

Singer Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers will take on the leading role in the Broadway musical “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.”

The role had been played to great acclaim by “Harry Potter” star Daniel Radcliffe, who will continue until January 2012. “Glee” star Darren Criss will assume the role briefly until the torch is passed to Jonas on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012.

The show’s director and choreographer, Rob Ashford, and Jonas appeared at Sardi’s Restaurant in New York City Wednesday to announce the news.

Jonas, who had previously seen the film version of “How to Succeed,” saw the show on the recommendation of his brother Kevin and fell in love with the production.

This is his fifth appearance in a Broadway show. He was last on Broadway earlier this year in “Hairspray.” Jonas said “to come back to Broadway, to be on the stage, is really an honor.”

The role of J. Pierrepont Finch, a window cleaner who rises through the ranks of the World Wide Wicket Company, calls for singing, dancing and, of course, acting. “The score is amazing, the music is absolutely incredible,” Jonas said. Perhaps because of the scope of the role, Jonas said that “I’m considering it my first Broadway experience.”

NICK JONAS: “I’M COMING BACK TO BROADWAY
September 7, 2011

It looks like Anna Maria Perez de Tagle isn’t the only one heading to Broadway. Nick Jonas suited up this morning to make a big announcement in NYC. He’s heading back to Broadway to star in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.

Nick will be succeeding Daniel Radcliffe and Darren Criss in the role of J. Pierrepont Finch in the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical comedy beginning Tuesday, January 24, 2012 through Sunday, July 1, 2012.

Tickets are currently on sale through Sunday, July 1, 2012. Jonas, who began his career on stage at age 8, returns to Broadway for the first time since the launch of his music career with his brothers.

Nick is no stranger to Broadway. He launched his professional career at age 8 as ‘Young Scrooge/Tiny Tim’ in A Christmas Carol and followed it up with roles in the Broadway productions of Les Misérables, Beauty and the Beast and Annie Get Your Gun with Reba McEntire. In the last year, he’s returned to his roots on the live stage, taking on the role of ‘Marius’ in London’s West End production of Les Misérables as well as at the 25th Anniversary Concert at The O2 Arena. Most recently, he starred as ‘Link Larkin’ alongside Harvey Fierstein and Marissa Jaret Winokur in the Hollywood Bowl’s production of Hairspray.

Daniel Radcliffe originated the role of ‘Finch’ in this production and will conclude his run in the show on Sunday, January 1, 2012. Darren Criss, breakout star of Fox’s Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning smash hit television show “GLEE”, will make his Broadway debut as J. Pierrepont Finch, performing a strictly limited three week engagement from Tuesday, January 3, through Sunday, January 22, 2012.

With the aid of a trusty self-help book “How to Succeed in Business” wily window washer J. Pierrepont Finch enjoys a riotous rise up the corporate ladder. Will Finch’s unorthodox business practices at the World-Wide Wicket Company get him in hot water with the head honcho J.B. Biggley, and jeopardize his romance with secretary Rosemary Pilkington? With a hilarious book and beloved score by Frank Loesser, HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING is packed with hit standards such as “I Believe in You,” “Happy to Keep His Dinner Warm,” “The Company Way,” “Been a Long Day,” “Rosemary,” and “Brotherhood of Man.”

Tickets for HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING range from $52 – $132, and are available at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre box office and at Telecharge.com (212-239-6200). The playing schedule is as follows: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7pm, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturday at 8pm, with matinees Wednesday and Saturday at 2pm and Sunday at 3pm.

Congrats Nick! We can’t wait to see the show!
