Grammy-Award-winningNominated popstar, Nick Jonas discusses the moment he realized the Jonas Brothers were a global phenomenon and the things brands can learn from how musicians interact with their fans.

Nick Jonas has said that he is looking to find the next Willow Smith in his search for America’s next young music star.
This weekend Jonas launched an online talent competition in partnership with the Quaker Chew Superstar Search to find talented musicians aged eight to 14.
“I think the qualities that I’m looking [for is] somebody that can really take the songs and make it their own,” Jonas told MTV News. “I’m excited, ’cause if we can find a young person who’s as passionate about music as I was then we’ll be in really good shape.”
When asked which stars of today had inspired his search, Jonas referred to the likes of ‘Whip My Hair’ singer Willow Smith and YouTube sensation Greyson Chance.
“I think for this particular competition I have to keep it in the mindset of young artists at this moment so I’d say somebody with the overall star power and star qualities of Willow Smith, with the artistry of Greyson Chance, who is really talented,” Jonas explained before joking, “Like a really little Nick Jonas!”
The winner of the search will have a song produced by Jonas in addition to an online music video, a contract with Jonas Group Management and a cash prize of $5,000.
Jonas was recently forced to clarify rumors surrounding the future of the Jonas Brothers, insisting that the band plan to reunite some point down the line.
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Ashton Kutcher, Tori Spelling and Kevin Jonas were just some of the celebrity names in New York City Thursday night for an Internet Week event which examined how the World Wide Web has made the widespread, viral creation and distribution of content—that was once a dream—a reality.
Brand agency Digitas was behind the fourth annual NewFront conference, an event designed to bring together the company’s clients with the leading content creators, distributors and talents.
This year’s theme was “Pipe Dream/Pipe Reality,” and included a panel titled “Modern Family,” where reality TV stars Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott joined pop star Kevin Jonas and several others to discuss the role of social media – for not only professional growth, but also its personal impact in the lives of young people.
The NewFront encouraged interaction from audience members by having a live Twitter feed (featuring tweets with the hashtag “#NF11”) and by asking them to answer questions via text message.
The “Modern Family” panel asked the question, “Has technology brought your family closer or further apart?”
Lizzie Marie, an 11-year-old chef also featured on the panel, explained that technology has brought her family closer and told a story about how her father’s biological family contacted him after they found him Facebook.
“Because of him being on Facebook, we’re going to have a family reunion,” she said on the panel. “It’s really cool that I get to meet these aunts and uncles and a grandfather I never met before and it’s all because of being on Facebook and meeting through technology.”
Musical group the Roots also had a member present on the conference. Drummer Questlove spoke on a panel titled “Live! Unstaged” about how this contact through technology can personally engage an artist with his/her audience.
“More than ever before fans are connecting with their favorite artist,” the drummer said. “And those fans openly share when they’re upset by something the artist is doing.”

Additionally, Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, Tyra Banks, Soleil Moon Frye and Zach Quinto were also among the celebrities who spoke to Digitas’ clients from the frontline of creative content construction.
There were also people such as Susan Popper, senior vice president of marketing communications for SAP Marketing, who offered advice on not just what to market but also how to market your content.
“Distribution strategy is as important as the content strategy,” Popper said. “Where your brand is going to live online is just as important as what your brand is going to say online.”

Rest easy, America: the Jonas Brothers are not breaking up. This is according to Nick Jonas, a Jonas Brother and also leader of Nick Jonas and the Administration, who was interviewed Friday on ‘The View’ (weekdays, syndicated on ABC). The individual Jonases (Joni?) are all working on solo projects right now, like Nick’s involvement with a talent competition sponsored by Quaker Chewy. But they have not split permanently.
“No, no, no, no, no,” said Jonas, when asked by Sheri Shepherd if the Jonas Brothers were no more. “We’re just taking some time to do some individual projects and enjoy kind of that journey that each of us are on. It’s exciting, you know, we’re all doing different things and kind of taking those experiences and then we’ll come back and do something soon.”
Jonas said that his focus this summer has been working with and producing other artists, which is why he got involved with the Chewy project, which is looking for the “next superstar” age eight to 14. He said specifically he is looking for someone who is as passionate about music as he was at that age, all those years ago.
Kevin Jonas stepped out with wife Danielle for the Kiehl’s 160th Anniversary celebration at the Kiehl’s Flagship Store in New York City on Wednesday.
Also in attendance were Pharrell Williams, the Wonder Girls, and Susan Sarandon. Attendees celebrated the transformation of Penny Farthing Restaurant into World of Kiehl’s and launch of the limited edition New York Heritage Collection, a line specifically designed for men.

Nick Jonas ‘Loving’ Brother Joe’s Solo Album
‘There’s so many different sounds,’ youngest JoBro says.
By Jocelyn Vena (@jocelyn1212) , with reporting by Matt Elias
The Jonas Brothers are busy with solo projects these days: Nick Jonas is cooking up tunes for singers like Charice, and his older brother Joe is putting the finishing touches on his forthcoming solo record.
While fans are dying to know what the album sounds like, Nick’s had the chance to hear it for himself. And, not surprisingly, he thinks it’s pretty great.
“Joe’s record’s really coming together nicely,” Nick told MTV News. “It’s been kind of a process for him to create it, and he’s taking his time, which I think is important. But it’s really a quality record. I listened to it in the car, and I was just loving it.”
Joe has made it clear that the album will have a more urban, electro club vibe to it, a deviation from the Jonas Brothers’ signature pop-rock sound. Nick explained that the people Joe’s worked with on the album have certainly helped carve out its sonic path.
“There’s so many different sounds, and yet it’s still consistent because it was produced by Danja and Rob Knox (Britney Spears, T.I.), who have just done some amazing work,” Nick said. “And I’m excited for him. I think he’ll have a great year, and [I'm] looking forward to people hearing the music.”
Joe has been working on the album for quite some time now and really had people buzzing when he was spotted in the studio working on a song with Chris Brown called “See No More.”
“He’s got thousands of songs,” Joe said of Brown. “He’s always in the studio, and to work with him is really fun. We were able to collaborate really well together, and the vibe in the studio was really chill: just two musicians writing together.”
What do you expect Joe Jonas’ album to sound like? Tell us below!
Nick Jonas admits that he is a big fan of “Glee”, therefore he wants a role in the popular musical drama series. While talking about co-writing Charice a song called “One Day” in an interview with MTV News, the youngest of the Jonas Brothers revealed that he would love to take part in the serial if there is a chance for it.
“Definitely a fan of the show [Glee]. I think anything that keeps music a part of popular culture is a great thing”, the 18-year-old star claimed. “As a music lover, I’m a big fan of it, especially because all of the songs are classics”, he added.
He then dished on his desire to play in the series, saying, “I know a lot of the people that produce the music for that show and I think they do a great job. So if there was a role for me that they thought would be cool, I’d love to do it.”
Previously, Nick has penned the Filipino songstress a track that has been launched in an Acuvue ad during an episode of “Glee”. And about the song, the ex-boyfriend of Selena Gomez explained, “I co-wrote the song while I was in Nashville, and it’s a cool song.”
Nick continued, “Basically, the agency came and said, ‘Hey we need a song with this lyric ['one day'] and if you could, fins a way to craft it’.” He added, “It was a really organic vibe that came from the songwriting session where we said, ‘If we can infuse this word here, that’d be cool’.”
Nick also shared that teaming up with Charice was an amazing experience. “The song just came to life then [and] working with Charice amazing. I flew to Boston to produce the song for her, and she was shooting a movie there, so it was kind of a fun experience. We had a great time”, he shared.
And not only that, he also praised the “Pyramid” chanteuse for her vocal talent. “The main thing about Charice that people really connect to… and kind of really lobe about her, is the fact that she is a normal girl and really shines because of her vocal talent. I was so blessed to produce her vocal. It’s amazing to see this big voice come out of her, especially on the song we did”, he said.

“In March 2007, almost a year and a half after my diagnosis, I publicly announced that I have diabetes at Carnival For a Cure. I knew I wanted to go public and that seemed like the right time. I guess I wanted to kind of get “comfortable” with my diabetes before telling the world about it. Please support me in my effort to raise money for the Jonas Brothers Change for the Children Foundation to help raise awareness for diabetes and find a cure.” – Nick

Nick Jonas is teaming up with the First Lady and everyone’s favorite little red guy Elmo.
This week, stars like Nick, Elmo, Jessica Simpson, and Martha Stewart will join with First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden to draw attention to the needs of military families. On Tuesday, Mrs. Obama and Mrs. Biden launch a national initiative to support U.S. service members and their families with a noon ET event at the White House.
The two will then do a two day tour visiting various communities, businesses and non-profits working to support military families.
On Thursday, more events will be held in Colorado Springs and Columbus, Ohio. Nick Jonas and Elmo are scheduled to appear at one of the Columbus events.
During a January appearance on “The Oprah Winfrey Show”, Mrs. Obama said she would redouble efforts to shine a spotlight on the nation’s military families because many Americans may not be aware of the pressure that deployment causes on families. She said military families need help and support.
