I have been an avid Jonas Brothers (FAN) since 2006. That being said, when they went on their little hiatus I anxiously awaited the day they would return. And now, almost three years later, my wait is over.
And it was not in vain.
When the Jo Bros first announced that the title of their new single was “Pom Poms,” I was slightly confused. I continued to question what on earth this song could be about and if they had lost their minds. Then the Jonas Brothers began the social media campaign with #PomPoms and a countdown that included sneak previews every day.
That was the smartest thing they could have done.
As fans everywhere heard more and more of the song and saw more and more glimpses of the music video, you couldn’t help but get excited. In a musical age where everything is trying desperately to be dubstep it was refreshing to hear that the Jonas Brothers used something not common to the music industry nowadays: REAL INSTRUMENTS. And not just pianos and guitars, there’s a whole marching band backing them up. This song has a vibe that only the Jonas Brothers can create — I don’t know if I want to sing along or grab some pom poms and dance to the music. As far as vocals go, I’ll admit I’m a little biased. Nick Jonas has some of the best vocals of my generation, in my opinion. No Auto-Tune needed here; his actual talent suffices just fine, not to mention he also produced the track. That’s real talent.
I’m sure everyone has noticed that lately Disney Stars have been trying to recreate themselves with a more “adult” image. Selena Gomez starred in Spring Breakers and Miley Cyrus shaved her head, so it’s only natural that the Jonas Brothers attempt to do the same. Well “Pom Poms” definitely isn’t the same teeny bopper songs they used to sing. The Jo Bros managed to make a song that can target a more mature audience, and I’m sure I speak for all us college-age Jonatics when I say we appreciate it.
All in all, if you have an extra 99 cents, I would highly recommend spending it on this song. And hey while you’re at it go out and buy some pom poms. You’re gonna need them.
The Jonas Brothers headed to the E! Studios to talk about coming back together to create a new album, release the video premiere of “Pom Poms”, answer some burning questions, take the audience behind the scenes of the music video, and much more. LOW QUALITY VIDEO UNTIL WE FIND BETTER ONES.
Fans of the Jonas Brothers: Today is your lucky day!
Nick, Joe, and Kevin Jonas are back with a brand-new music video that is sure to have their millions of fans cheering. The video is for their new single, “Pom Poms,” and we’ll warn you right now: prepare to have this catchy tune in your head all day!
In the video, the Jonases rock out on a football field and perform their peppy new song. The boys chose New Orleans as their setting, and invited the Southern University marching band and cheerleaders from New Orleans’ own pro sports teams to appear in the video.
A dance-off between the Jonas Brothers and a cheerleading squad? Yes, please!
See what Danielle Jonas and Dina Deleasa had to say about Married to Jonas season two!
The “Pom Poms” video is the first that Kevin, Nick and Joe have made together in about four years. “Being back on the set of a video together is an amazing experience,” Nick told E! News, “It feels like so long and to be back and working with a lot of the same people that we’ve been working, it’s an incredible feeling.”
As if the official release of “Pom Poms” isn’t enough to have you jumping for joy, the second season of Married to Jonas is fast approaching as well. With Kevin’s in-laws moving in, you can bet that the house is going to get crowded!
Check out the video, and be sure to tune in for the season two premiere of Married to Jonas on Sunday, April 21 at 10:30/9:30c, only on E!
The Southern University Marching Band continues to expand its global recognition with the premiere of the Jonas Brothers new single and video “Pom Poms.”
“This is awesome,” Director of Bands Lawrence Jackson said today on the release of the video that shows the face of SU drum major Kelan Norman on its cover on a number of websites.
Pom Poms, the first video the wildly popular brothers have shot together in nearly four years, is described as “a massive, sing-along pop song that’s straight from a high school halftime show.” The video was shot February 16 on a St. John Parish high school football field.
The video begins with SU drum major blowing his whistle as he would on any of the band’s halftime shows. The band, nicknamed “The Human Jukebox,” is seen in parts of the video and closes out the video with one of its patented dance steps. Then Norman performs the famous SU drum major back bend where he leans back until his head touches the ground.

The past 18 months have been a world wind for all segments of the Human Jukebox. The Dancing Dolls performed with Madonna during halftime of the 2012 Super Bowl. The Marching Band and the Dolls performed during the pregame show of the 2013 Super Bowl.
In the weeks leading up to the Dolls performance with Madonna, everyone connected to the band was legally bound not to make public comments about their participation until halftime. It was the same with the Jonas Brothers.
“It was easy for me to keep it a secret because I signed a confidentiality agreement,” Jackson laughed.
He called the interaction with the Jonas Brothers and the video company “a really good experience for the students. The students were excited to see how videos were shot, what went on backstage of a video shoot and how long they can last.”
The video shoot took about 10 hours in extremely cold and windy weather, Jackson said. “They started shooting in the afternoon and ended at about midnight. Everyone was freezing and ice started to settle on the drums because of dew starting to set in,” he said.
Nonetheless, Jackson said, “the students worked through it like champs.”
The new album will mark the Jonas Brothers’ first since 2009′s “Lines, Vines and Trying Times” and their first new music since leaving Disney’s Hollywood Records, which released their last 3 LPs.
Chancellor James L. Llorens complimented the band on its growing popularity and the publicity it is building for the university with participation on national stages such as the Super Bowl and entertainment videos.
“First our basketball puts a scare into a top seed in the NCAA basketball tournament two weeks ago and gets a ton of national exposure for us, now our marching band will be seen by a worldwide audience with the Jonas Brothers,” Llorens said. “Southern continues to build its national brand.”
