Nick Jonas is back to reprise his role the child actor turned über-rich hottie Lyle West, and we are currently mailing in our ‘thank you!’ notes to the powers-that-be at NBC.

The suits at the World Wide Wicket Company are closing up shop. The Broadway revival of Frank Loesser’s 1961 musical “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” will close after its performance on Sunday, May 20, the show’s producers announced on Tuesday. It will have played 30 previews and 473 regular performances at the Al Hirschfeld Theater.

Nominated in 2011 for a Tony Award for best musical revival, the show has been struggling at the box office in recent weeks despite the star power of its leading man, the pop singer Nick Jonas, in the role of the executive J. Pierrepont Finch. Last week the show took in just $367,605 at the box office, or about 26 per cent of its potential gross at the Hirschfeld. It recouped its $9 million initial investment in December.

On Jan. 24, Mr. Jonas took over the role of Finch from Darren Criss, one of the stars of the TV series “Glee.” Mr. Criss performed the show for three weeks at the beginning of January after Daniel Radcliffe, the revival’s original Finch, departed the show in December. A spokesman for the production said that Mr. Jonas’s contract was to have run through July 1.

The news came on the same day that the producers of another Broadway musical, “Leap of Faith,” announced that it would close on Sunday at the St. James Theater.

The Broadway revival of How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying — first a vehicle for Daniel Radcliffe, and now starring Nick Jonas — will close up shop on May 20, the producers announced May 8.

Pop star Jonas began punching the clock as corporate ladder-climber J. Pierrepont Finch in this 50th anniversary Broadway revival of the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical satire on Jan. 24. Also new to the Rob Ashford-directed cast at the time was “Ugly Betty” star Michael Urie as office brown-noser Bud Frump. In 2011, John Larroquette won a Tony Award for playing company president J.B. Biggley. That role is now played by Emmy Award winner Beau Bridges.

Performances play the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. By close, the production will have played 30 previews and 473 regular performances.

The cast was told the closing news prior to the Tuesday night curtain. The closing notice coincides with the May 8 release of a new five-track Broadway cast album EP from Broadway Records. Nick Jonas is heard on the album; Radcliffe is heard on the full 2011 cast album.

“We could not have asked for a better vision of this legendary show than Rob Ashford’s joyous production which literally sent audiences dancing out into the streets,” producer John Gore said in a statement. “I am certain the original creators would be proud of this chapter in the legacy of this great show.”

“My producing partners and I are extremely grateful to the unbelievably talented company of actors and skillful crew that have given vibrant life to this show for over 500 performances,” producer Michael McCabe added. “Their collective commitment, spirit and energy is what has made the audience experience so singular and thrilling. We could not be more proud of this production.”

Primarily known as one of the Jonas Brothers, the hit band he formed with his two siblings in 2005, Jonas started his Broadway career in the revival of Annie Get Your Gun, made his West End stage debut as Marius in Les Miserables in 2010 and was part of the Hollywood Bowl staging of Hairspray as Link Larkin.

Jonas was the third leading man to take on the role of Finch in the 50th anniversary revival of How to Succeed. “Harry Potter” star Radcliffe opened the production in March 2011 for a ten-month run, and was succeeded by “Glee” actor Darren Criss, who concluded a limited, three-week engagement Jan. 22.

The principal cast also features Emmy Award winner and Tony Award nominee Tammy Blanchard (Gypsy, “Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows”) as office bombshell Hedy La Rue, Rose Hemingway (Parade at the Mark Taper Forum) in her Broadway debut as Rosemary Pilkington, Rob Bartlett (Chicago, Little Shop of Horrors) as Twimble/Wally Womper, Sara Jean Ford as Smitty, Ellen Harvey (Thou Shalt Not, The Music Man) as Miss Jones and Michael Park (Middletown) as Bert Bratt.

How to Succeed opened on Broadway March 27, 2011.

Millions of Jonas Brothers fans around the world would simply die for the opportunity to experience life as a JoBro wife. And now E! is giving them that chance.

But, you know, without the actual marriage license.

Instead, viewers will peek into the life of Kevin Jonas and his wife, Danielle Jonas, with E!’s new reality series Married to Jonas. And we got all the exclusive details when our own Kristin Dos Santos talked to Kevin and Dani, as well as Nick and Joe Jonas yesterday at E!’s big Upfront presentation in New York. And since we’re greedy, we had to ask: How many JoBros will we get? Plus, is Nick really dating Smash costar Megan Hilty?

Though Married to Jonas primarily focuses on Kevin and Dani’s married life, it wouldn’t be a true Jonas Brothers party without all three, right?

“Kevin and Dani have the most incredible crazy life you can imagine. You’re going to see a lot of Kevin and Dani,” Joe tells us. “For us, because we’re making a record obviously as brothers and they’re family, we’ll be popping up here and there. You’ll get to probably see a little bit more of our personal lives. I think more so you’ll get to see how we’re more a family.”

Kevin and Dani seemed like they were ready for the reality TV world, and not at all afraid of the dreaded “reality curse” that fell upon Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson after their show’s success. “I think we talk about things more with our feelings and everything,” Dani says. “I think it’s going to be good.”

They even went so far as to call it “therapy” for their relationship. “It feels a little crazy,” Kevin admits to us. “It’s a lot to digest but we’re really excited.”

And they certainly have a lot going on as a family in the industry, which made us press Nick on when we’d see him on NBC’s Smash next, reprising his role as Lyle West. “I’ll be in the season finale,” he tells us. “I’m back working with Anjelica Huston. I think in the next season you might see me as well, so keep your eyes peeled.” And what of his rumored romance with his Smash costar Hilty? Don’t hold your breath for a reality series based on that relationship…because it doesn’t exist!

“We are just friends,” Nick promises us. “And I’m enjoying being a single man here in New York, because my work is my priority these days.”

After six years with the label, the siblings reclaimed their masters and are now free agents.

The Jonas Brothers have parted ways with Hollywood Records after releasing three albums on the Disney-owned label. Comprised of siblings Nick, Kevin and Joe Jonas, the trio, which has sold 17 million albums worldwide, also bought back the rights to their master recordings, merchandising and publishing for an undisclosed sum.

“This was a decision that we made as a group,” Nick Jonas tells The Hollywood Reporter. “Naturally, as with any partnership, when you do part ways, there is emotion tied to it. We’ve been blessed to have a lot of success with Hollywood and with Disney, but speaking on behalf of my brothers and our team, we’re all looking forward to this next chapter. We’re ready for that next step as a group, and being able to take our work with us was so important.”

When contacted by THR, a Hollywood spokesperson commented, “Hollywood Records and Jonas Brothers have amicably ended an amazingly successful partnership after six years. … We couldn’t have asked for better partners or nicer people to work with. We wish Nick, Kevin, and Joe all the best in their future endeavors.”

It’s a rarity these days for a band with Jonas-level success — the kind that includes sold-out arena shows, world tours, movie and TV specials — to successfully reclaim their catalog (for a hefty price, typically a percentage based on past sales and estimated future earnings), but to hear manager Johnny Wright tell it, the opportunity couldn’t be passed up. “We could stay or we could go,” he says of the negotiation, which came after the band had met its obligations to the label. “This will allow them to chart their own destiny.”

It will also allow the the band to look at additional ancillary income from digital initiatives such as apps and live concert streaming, technologies that barely existed when the web-savvy JoBros signed with Hollywood in 2007 (with masters that they had wrested from Columbia Records after the Sony label dropped them). And then there’s the most lucrative stream of all: publishing, which can take the form of valuable synchs and movie placements, foreign territories, sheet music, you name it.

“The industry and distribution channels are changing so rapidly, we don’t even know what it means anymore to put out a record,” says Wright. “If we wanted to take another deal with a major, it would be a different than what we entered into when we signed with Hollywood. We don’t have to become just an artist to the label, we could be a partner or do it ourselves and then come back later on. There’s no plan here — the plan is whatever we decide to make it.”

Wright readily admits, the Jonas Brothers had outgrown Disney, something that became evident as they contemplated their exit. “In having a conversation about moving forward, we knew we weren’t going to do a Jonas show on Disney Channel and the likelihood of us doing movie in that vein was not there so the big platforms were not really accessible to us anymore,” says the veteran manager, who has represented Justin Timberlake since his NSync days.

Besides, the guys longed to take some time with a new album (their last, Lines, Vines and Trying Times, came out in 2009) without the pressure of a deadline. “We don’t have to have a record out under any time constraints so they’re free to just create and explore and do it at their own pace,” says Wright. “And they’re enjoying it.”

Indeed, adds Nick Jonas: “In these past three years, my brothers and I have not released a record, but we’ve really come into our own as men. And we’ve also lived life, which is an important part to making a record. … I’ve got a studio set-up in my apartment in New York where we can all put down our ideas. It’s a really liberating feeling to just be able to create and write whatever is on our hearts.”

Wright says to expect a new Jonas Brothers album by the end of 2012 or early 2013. In the meantime, the guys are putting into motion their own plan for imaging, even introducing a new logo (see right). But in turning from “boys to men, to use that cliché,” he adds that this is a band that hasn’t yet peaked worldwide. And with all that they do both as a group and individually — among their side-projects, the E! reality show Married to Jonas starring Kevin Jonas and new wife Danielle Deleasa (a co-production of Jonas Enterprises and Ryan Seacrest Productions), Nick’s role on Broadway’s How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and NBC’s Smash, a new feature film for Joe Jonas and plans to sign acts to their own production or publishing company — there’s no telling where the Jonas train will lead them. But one thing is for sure: they’re driving it.

“What the Jonas Brothers have already done in the music business, most people will never get to,” says Wright. “Now it’s chapter two, where they take those experiences and lessons and music and have all the control in putting it together and making a great business plan moving forward.”

The oldest Jonas Brother, Kevin, and his wife Danielle have teamed up with executive producer Ryan Seacrest for a new reality series on E! “Married to Jonas” will follow the New Jersey-based suburban life of the newly-married couple. The show, which premieres Aug. 19 at 10 p.m., will also catalog Kevin’s journey as he and his brothers, Nick and Joe, start to record new music.

“I vividly recall believing from the very first time that I met them that the Jonas Brothers would, without a doubt, become a worldwide cultural sensation,” said Seacrest in a statement to EW.com. “When we learned that Dani married Kevin, our production team became curious about what life would be like for a young bride entering the excitement, and sometimes chaos, of a pop star’s life. Looking through the lens of young love, the show will examine the ups and downs of Dani and Kevin’s marriage, against the backdrop of their contrasting family cultures, traditions and individual careers.”

The 24-year-old popstar married Danielle (formerly Deleasa) in December 2009. The Jonas Brothers’ last studio release, 2009′s “Lines, Vines and Trying Times,” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, selling 247,000 copies in its first week according to Nielsen SoundScan. Both Nick and Joe have launched solo careers since the group’s unofficial hiatus, while Kevin took time to enjoy married life. All three brothers are currently based in the New York area, with Nick starring as J. Pierrepont Finch in the Broadway musical “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.”

The Jonas’ parents, Kevin Sr. and Denise, and their little brother Frankie will presumably also appear in episodes of the show. The trio’s last television endeavor — “Jonas L.A.” — aired on the Disney channel, and followed the lives of a fictional family that mirrored their own.
