Shakiki’s Feature on Nick J Online (June ’08)

When did you start the site?
I started the site back in August 2007 after a few weeks the Jonas Brothers had released their self-titled CD album. It was originally titled, “Nick Jonas Online”, but a month later after opening, I shortened it to “Nick J Online” because it seem to fit and sound better. Yet, I still consider it going by either or.
Why did you start it?
I started the fan site because at that time there was no Nick Jonas fan site on the internet. Funny thing is that 2 other sites opened a few days after mine, which one of those sites merged with me before but he no longer is working for Nick J Online. With the Jonas Brothers success right now, it’s that hard to believe, no Nick site?
Of course, there is the fact, the teenager inherited good looking genes through his family. Yet, however, the main reasons why I started Nick J Online besides there being no site on him was the fact that he is such a good role model. As a young teen, I saw him as a person who can change the world and make an impact on younger generations. He has a good heart and has his head on straight. There is only so much “young celebrity teens” that do not follow the case of ‘letting Hollywood get to them’ and Nick Jonas is one of them.
Nick having diabetes gave him a reason to even make a bigger change to allow others to see that if you have diabetes or dealing with some struggle in your life, you aren’t alone. He wanted to make others believe you can still live every moment of youAr life and be thankful. s a great message, I wanted to spread that too. At that time, my dad was dealing with being borderline diabetic and reading so much about his story just made me like him more and knew this kid can go far in anything he does.
There is also this actuality why I started the site as well. Nick Jonas is indeed a exceptionally talented person for his age. In addition, being able to play piano, guitar, drums and sing, his songs is what really makes him talented. Being in the Jonas Brothers whether working with Joe and Kevin or alone. Being as ‘shy or quiet’ as he many say, you can tell he put his heart into what is says through his lyrics if he can’t say it out loud. Just look at the songs, ‘S.O.S.’ and ‘A Little Bit Longer’!
All of that makes him stand out and my choice on starting I wanted to start the fan site!
What has the response been?
In the start the response to my site wasn’t much, the Jonas Brothers, themselves were still trying to get known as well. After awhile the amount of people ‘online’ and the ‘unique hits’ increased because so many people were starting to hear about Nick Jonas and who he was. It still gets exciting and touching when I get emails or comments from visitors saying we are one of their favorite JB related fan site. I even found out through one of my friends who saw Nick during the LMITE Tour that Nick Jonas, himself, even visits the site a lot (that’s a real good response)! Just on June 19th, I was thrilled to see we got over 14,000 unique hits just for that day when usually we can get up to 13,000 unique hits a day. The response now been nothing but amazing because now we get tons of visitors from all around the world!
What are Nick’s fans like?
Honestly, we all know that any Nick Jonas fans out there are ‘crazy’ and say some really random things you wouldn’t expect to hear from kids so young (I’ll be 20 in October 2008!). But a lot of Nick Jonas’ fans especially the ones who visit the site daily been nothing but supportive. They have been supportive towards him, the Jonas Brothers, and as well to the site. I gain to know that there are Nick fans out there even if you don’t know really well that will have your back.
What other sites do you recommend for JB fans?
There is so many sites out there that I recommend, some you don’t even expect people to mention. Of course there are my ‘brother sites’ at Joe-Jonas.com and KevinJonasOnline.com and ‘family sites’ at CampRockFan.com and JonasHQ.org. However, there is so many sites who are ‘underdogs’ but are still some of the best. All the staff members at JobromanceMagazine.com who help me are great sites so everyone should check out the list of fan sites from there. There is also so many international Jonas Brothers fan sites, which many can check out through Nick J Online’s affiliates, they will give you the latest on JB in certain countries.

I just wanted to thank everyone and anyone who helped with the site as much as possible. Whether it had to do with donations, visiting, or even just spreading the word about the site, it’s all appreciated! I can’t thank enough on how successful this fan site is getting and will continue to be like this. Also, I wanted to thank Nick Jonas and the Jonas Brothers for being the reasons this site exists today.
Remember to be like the Jonas Brothers and ‘live the dream’. Whether it’s has to do with what you love or being like me and creating a fan site that makes an impact. ‘The dream’ can come in any form, it’s just the way you live it!
